Hon. William J. Condon

The Hon. William J. Condon is a former Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, having retired from the bench in 2022. Justice Condon presided over both criminal and civil cases during his 14-years on the bench.

Judge Condon was named Judge of the Year in 2010 by The Suffolk County Brehon Society, again in 2016 by The Suffolk County Bar Association and, most recently, in 2019 by The Suffolk County Court Officers Association.

Judge Condon’s exceptional depth of experience as both a jurist and practitioner, across both the defense and plaintiff bars, now informs his unique command, appreciation and perspective of legal issues and case law as a mediator and arbitrator for SSAM ADR.

Justice Condon is a past-President of the New York State Association of Supreme Court Justices and served as Counsel to the New York State Senate and State Senator, Caesar Trunzo.

Justice Condon served as a Principal Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County’s District Attorney’s Office for over seven years before becoming Bureau Chief of the Suffolk County Trial Team for a major insurance company where he served for twelve years. He was a partner in his own law firm from 2006 through 2009, where his practice focused on civil litigation, criminal law, estate practice, real estate, and commercial litigation.

As a trial attorney, Justice Condon represented plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury matters and has taken dozens of verdicts in civil and criminal cases in virtually every venue and court in the New York City area.

Justice Condon has lectured on trial jurisprudence for the New York State Bar Association, at the Suffolk County Academy of Law, Touro Law School, St. Joseph’s College and Dowling College, as well as the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers.
