Mark Bass, Esq. is a founding member of the firm of Bass & Abrams, PC. The firm practices in the areas of personal injury litigation (plaintiff and defense) as well as in the areas of collaborative divorce, civil collaborative practice, mediation and other areas of general practice.
Mark has litigated many types of cases which include personal injury, wrongful death, civil rights violations, police brutality and false arrest, premises liability, products liability, property damage as well as auto, bus, and train accidents.
Bass & Abrams, PC, (formerly the law office of Mark K. Bass) has represented various New York State Public Authorities and Public Benefit Corporations since 1990 in their negligence defense litigation.
Mark has also handled plaintiff’s personal injury, both in his firm and as a trial attorney for the law office of Finkelstein, Levine, Gittelson and Tetenbaum in the 1990s (now known as Finkelstein and Partners) one of the largest plaintiff’s personal injury firms in the State of New York.
Mark began his legal career as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the New York City Law Department, Office of the Corporation Counsel, Tort Division.

Mark Bass is a highly skilled mediator. In addition to handling many mediation cases in his private practice, Mark is a mediator with the Westchester and Rockland Mediation Center. Mark was a mediator for the Storm Sandy Mediation Program administered by the American Arbitration Association. Mark also mediates personal injury cases for Amicus Mediation and Arbitration Group, Inc. and Settlement Services Arbitration and Mediation ADR (SSAM). He is a mediator on the 9th Judicial District Mediation panel in Westchester County (Surrogate’s Court, General Civil, Matrimonial), Dutchess County (Tort, Surrogate’s Court, and Matrimonial/Family), Putnam County (Tort, Surrogate’s Court, and Matrimonial/Family) Orange County (Tort, Surrogate’s Court, and Matrimonial/Family) and Rockland County (Torts, Surrogate’s Court, and Matrimonial/Family). Mark is also on the New York County Matrimonial Mediation Panel and the Bronx County Surrogate's Court Mediation Panel.
