Kevin M. Loftus, Esq.

Kevin M. Loftus is a seasoned negotiator and former general partner at the law firm of O’Connor, McGuinness, Conte, Doyle, Oleson, Watson & Loftus, where he practiced for more than 40 years. A graduate of Hofstra University School of Law and St. Peter’s University, Mr. Loftus was admitted to the New York Bar in 1984 and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, as well as the Eastern District of Connecticut.

Now serving as a mediator for SSAM ADR, Mr. Loftus brings four decades of litigation experience and a balanced blend of facilitative and evaluative techniques, honed through years representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Based in Hudson Valley, he applies his deep regional insight and strong relationships within the local legal community to help parties navigate disputes with clarity and collaboration. Known for his purposeful and calm demeanor, Mr. Loftus fosters an environment where understanding, trust, and resolution can thrive.

Throughout his career, Mr. Loftus built a reputation as a highly effective litigator with extensive experience in complex civil litigation, handling hundreds of cases involving serious personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, product liability, premises liability, construction accidents, and medical malpractice. As lead trial counsel, he achieved numerous successful verdicts and negotiated settlements in high-value matters spanning infectious disease, orthopedics, nursing home care, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, and general and plastic surgery.

For thirteen consecutive years, Mr. Loftus has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in the New York Metro Region for his work in medical malpractice. His practice has included supervising national litigation involving personal injury, product liability, and insurance coverage, representing a wide range of public and private clients—including school districts, municipalities, medical professionals, insurance carriers, pharmaceutical companies, and herbal supplement manufacturers. He has also lectured at legal seminars on trial strategies in automobile and medical malpractice cases and on FDA-related product liability issues.

Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Loftus has been deeply involved in his community, coaching youth baseball, soccer, and basketball, and serving on the boards of multiple sports leagues in North Salem, New York.
