Hon. Thomas D. Atkinson, former New York State Magistrate, Lynbrook Village Justice in the 8th busiest village court in New York State, is now Village Attorney. He also practices personal injury law, representing both plaintiffs and insurance companies and has had vast experience in commercial litigation, corporate finance, securities litigation, and various areas in business law.
Practicing law for decades, Judge Atkinson has served in the capacity as Justice, Mediator and Arbitrator and has developed a reputation for understanding and tending to the needs of his clients. With his dispute resolution experience, he has instituted many new programs in the courts to help a wide range of underrepresented individuals. He is passionate about his work as a mediator and arbitrator and believes that building trust is the cornerstone to successful mediation.
In 2018, The New York Law Journal survey ranked Judge Atkinson as both the number five mediator and number five arbitrator in Metro New York.
